Lira, Uganda Update

TOG has been faithfully sending resources to Lira on a monthly basis since April of 2012. We are now close to winding down our donations of cloth, thread, scissors, and funds for the Touch His Cloak project. We have discovered we need to become more business model oriented. This has been a learning curve for all of us. The good news is that we have helped many women and girls live normal productive lives during their menustration. This has been our main goal. The second goal was to have a project that was sustainable. Here, we have slipped. We need to rethink our business plan and with the help of India's Bare Foot College colleagues, we are exploring a more sophisticated plan. We'll keep you posted on our progress.

Touch His Cloak Strategy

We are still working toward a plan to help the women of Lira, Uganda sustain pad making by creating small business in their community. This is challenging. We have been sending fabric, thread, and other tools to help them increase productivity, but we need more help--particularly from project management standpoint. Pray that we will be able to move this project forward. If you can share ideas and experience, we would love to hear from you!
